Next on Continental is the re-release of long forgotten hit ‘No Memory’ by Scarlet Fantastic, which has been given a surprise rejuvination thanks to a batch of intuitive remixes by the likes of The Swiss’ Luke Million and Monday Club.

The combination of Maggie K de Monde’s visionary pro-hippy flights of lyricism, throbbing T-Rex glam riffs and solid italodisco beat spiced by some forward-thinking 12” reworks turned Scarlet Fantastic ‘No Memory’ into one of the anthems of the Summer of Love’s balearic generation in the late 80s/early 90s, championed by Andy Weatherall and Boys Own in London as well as Alfredo in Ibiza.

Since her illustrious career as singer in chart-topping 80s bands Scarlet Fantastic and Swans Way, Maggie K de Monde’s never stopped creating and performing music, regularly developing new associations and collaborations. After connecting on social networks, Continental’s A&R Jerry Bouthier hooked her up with Osaka djs Kill The Hero to feature on their single ‘Surrender’ (CONT 005), a strikingly lyrical tune which came with inspired reinterpretations from Australia’s Shazam, Play Paul/Tulip, Reflex, Lancelot, Mannequine…). Jerry soon offered Maggie to revive ‘No Memory’ by handing it to a varied cast of remixers who would truly do justice to the enthralling spirit of this lost gem.

First is Luke Million, The Swiss’ loveable keyboard whizz from Down Under has dug a new delicious melodic progression, singled out for the video. London’s latest mysterious duo Monday Club take things to a dark housey basement without losing the drama of the original, beware this rocks. Father and son Freegard & Freegard are hot shots in their own rights and riotous when in the same studio, check their turbo re-rub. Last but not least, Maggie K de Monde’s current project with Mark Leif Mighty K provides a campfire version that sure gives yet more depth to this freedom song which has stood the test of time and is as relevant today as it was 27 years ago!
