Описание: "As India moves towards Viksit Bharat 2047, the country will build a massive amount of infrastructure over the next two decades.

Speaking at the World Sustainable Development Summit organised by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Sanjay Seth, Senior Director – Sustainable Infrastructure at TERI, highlighted a key challenge: ensuring that rapid growth does not lock India into long-term carbon emissions.

Buildings already contribute 33–34% of emissions, and the rapid rise of data centres — which are highly energy intensive — will significantly increase electricity demand in the coming decade.

With India processing nearly 20% of global data but hosting less than 3% of global data centres, the sector is expected to expand rapidly.

Seth emphasised that the solution lies in designing infrastructure correctly from the start — integrating energy efficiency, renewable energy, and strong implementation frameworks."
