Well... hello, it's been a while. While this week seemed to be more chilled out compared to the mess that is last week (Screw Off, The Crashes of Ashkelon!), I still somehow found my way back into tiredness. Now, you must be wondering why this Blog a thing. And well, initially, I meant to do this Blog after the next one, but realizing that next week is only days from the 20th Anniversary of Sengoku Basara (On July 21st) makes too much of a good coincidence for me to ignore. As such, despite me putting together this one later, this Blog came out first. Think of it as... a 'Prelude' for a much bigger Blog next time, or a Teaser even ;)
Not to mention, there is a very good chance that I need to take care of my Bike's License Plate Replacing somewhere next week. So I feel like freeing up most of my schedule there as much as possible, but to compensate for it and to write that possibly massive blog there would be the best of suggestion here. But you shouldn't be too worried about the Schedules going whacked around there... I hope, I just need to put my priority straight by doing Euro Truck first followed by FINALLY starting the next DW Empires Playthrough (of Zhu Jun)
Now, how did that come to happen? You see... (SPOILER for the next blog, by the way), when it was Fuuma Kotaro's turn during my Basara Utage Testing for the Build I plan for everyone there, I discovered some nifty trick. Not only that, I finally came around to see how much Fuuma improved in Utage between his awkward and jank air combat in SH (to the point of me not having fun with me there), to me actually having great fun with him there...
But the most important part, however, is that I discovered that Pressing the Jump Button Mid-Air as Fuuma will get him on a Dash back to the Ground. While his Air Dash is a simple speed boost instead of needing to use the Square Button to have the additional Circle Slash he had in 2 Heroes. And then, I decided to be cheeky and tried spamming the Jump Button, and... HOO BOY, he just went across the Map REALLY Fast, and I do admit that I got a great laugh out of it.
But of course, despite my happiness to finally find that easier Mid-Air Silt Throat I've been missing from 2 Heroes (The Button is actually Guard+Triangle Mid-Air here, but it's ONLY on Utage). As you have no Mid-Air Version of that rather useless Counter Skill you had in SH (Because most of Fuuma's moves relied on Mid-Air, you rarely initiate those Counters to get there) That Speed Dash is the one that gave me the most impact.
So, after I went over everybody up to Shingen, I decided to test out how quickly Fuuma went on a Drag Race. First I redo the Matsunaga Stage, as despite it was the Stage where I used to test Fuuma out (Reference to how Fuuma served Matsunaga in some scenarios, notably Basara 4), it's also the stage with a lot of straight and simple path. I calculated the seconds I took between starting the Stage and to reach those Hiragumo Beaver Beyblade Units, and... that took me SEVEN Seconds.
But I wasn't satisfied enough, so I went to one of the more annoying stage in this game, Masamune's Race. A Stage which shows the Shortcoming of Horse Controls in this Series, like you can't simply go fast here without lacking control or wasted your Basara Gauge, something I rarely use. (Though somehow the Oshu Race in SB4 is EVEN WORSE due to the ridiculous amount of tight turns and pitfall shortcuts you made there)
And do you know what happened there? While I did spend some time loitering around and beaten the Camp there. The time it took for me to reach the Faraway Camp at the end of the Race, is TWO MINUTES from the Start of the Stage. Two Minutes! Masamune is still stuck on the other side of the Map! Just past the 2nd Camp! Like, it's just ridiculous how much speed you gain from these Jump Spams compared to simply taking a Horse or Running or using those Mobility Specials, which I rarely use since they weren't that useful in the actual combat!
Even though I DO admit that I used the Idaten Sandals Accessory (which gave me Movement Speed Increase). I still think it's ridiculous compared to me usually just barely won against Masamune in these races. I mean, LOOK at where Masamune's Red Helmet Icon when you watched the Video as a whole, LOOK AT IT!
So yeah, that's enough gushing at Fuuma's Speed for the Day, the picture that serves as the Thumbnail for this Blog and Video is a teaser for the Build I had for Basara Utage. But the rest of the story will have to wait until next week, alright? Take care, and I'll show you the video itself as a proper demonstration on this thing... with Fuuma's Theme as a BGM, of course.
