Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has put an end to "non-local" criticisms by starting the construction of his own house in the constituency. On February 20, 2026, Balakrishna, along with his wife Vasundhara Devi, performed the 'Bhoomi Puja' for their new home. Emotional at the event, Balakrishna stated, "Hindupur is my home, and I will repay the debt to its people through development." During his two-day tour, he also launched BT road works worth ₹2.60 crore in Manempalli and offered 'Jalaharathi' to Handri-Neeva waters at Pulamathi Lake.
