INSANE Basque linguistics theory (#2)

Описание: In episode 2, we look at Edo Nyland, a Dutch researcher proposing that Basque and Ainu are ultimately related to the ancient Saharan language, explaining what's wrong with the evidence he gives.

[Summary of the end of the video] — I'm starting college soon, which means I probably won't be uploading as consistently, but I'll absolutely continue making these types of videos because I love doing so :) I also have music coming soon so that'll hopefully be fun. I like to treat this channel like a journal for my thoughts, so you can expect a whole bunch of different content on here, though never with a lack of linguistics videos hehe

Remember that I read all of your comments and reply to most, so feel free to leave your thoughts and suggestions down below!

CORRECTIONS

• Concerning the Ainu words, the words I mentioned that seemed to have typos are actually dialectal variations, most of them Sakhalin variants (Thank you to ‪@VEGETA19954‬ for the comment). It just makes me want to know about the other words in the list—are they all Sakhalin variants (which would make sense), or are there some words that come from different dialects? If so, what could explain that? I just think there's probably versions used in mainland/non-Sakhalin variants which would then be strange to mix in with other Sakhalin variants when attempting to show their phonological similarities to Basque words. This of course does not vindicate his arguments since the whole historical process and place name univerbation theories doesn't hold up for the other reasons I presented, but it's worth noting the list is more correct than it was made out to be :)
• To clarify, the map at 3:17 depicts the administrative region of the Basque Country, but Basque is spoken in a wider radius than that region, extending even into parts of southern France.
