Part IV - Ornaments - DIY Native American Headdress / War Bonnet

When I was a kid, I had a great admiration for Native Americans and their craft I discovered in movies the french TV broadcasted every sunday night. This build was a challenge for me. I wanted to learn how to make a headdress, overcome all the difficulties and most importantly pay a tribute to the traditions and craft of the Native Americans I admired as a child. I know the importance of the headdress for Indians and the honor it is to have one or wear one, so please don't see in this video any disrespect for the culture or traditions of Native Americans, as I only mean to show respect and admiration for their craft.

I used rabbit skin, some beads, coton thread and feathers to make the two main parts. Then I cut some hide to make two stripes and vegetable tanned leather to make the support of the beading you saw in Part I. The final pieces are the two metal discs. I don't show how I made them in the video but it was quite simple. I took a 0.5mm steel sheet and cut two discs as round as possible and drilled a hole in the middle of each disc. Very simple you see :)
