Описание: The Deaf family, the Hatibovićs, suffered a setback in their lives during the Bosnian War, which lasted three years. The Bosnian war was known for genocide and massacres, which had taken away all familiar for them--their home, family members, and friends were gone. Still, through faithfulness and perseverance, they managed to get by despite not understanding what was going on around them or where people went who left without saying goodbye. They shared their incredible story of how they survived genocide and overcame adversity to share it with others.

It was hard for them to communicate; they relied on sign language or lip reading as communication tools. Their story is an example of what it's like when someone doesn't have access to mainstream society but still survives everyday struggles that most would never be able to imagine.
