Improved Translation

In 1946, After Eight years of war in China has come to the end, Zhou Zhirou (周至柔), the commander in chief of the ROCAF, he wish to create a marching song that "without murderous atmosphere, and will not limited by time"

therefore the head of "political training office", Jian Pu organized a team led by Hu Kemin (胡克敏) to undertake this job of creating the marching song, the team had requested public for lyric and music, but by the end of 1946, none of thousands of works were applied.

then one day, commander Zhou told Jian Pu:「talented person are everywhere at political training office, instead of asking others, it would be better if you do it by your own. why not trying to write the lyrics by yourself?」

Jian Pu realized he could try this way ,that night, lyrics of "military anthem of air force" was immediately written, the final result pleased commander Zhou much.

Hu Kemin then ask Composer Liu Xue'an's help to create various marching song for air force, including this song. it is believed that Liu Xue'an had lived in airfield with pilot for several months, by hearing the sound of engine, watching plane took off and landing on the ground, made him composed this majestic, lively sounding song.

緬懷先烈莫辜負創業艱辛　發揚光大尤賴我空軍軍人
