Siciliano - Mauro Giuliani guitar concerto
Upon hearing this Siciliano for the first time live in Jerusalem I was left in tears. I was then at the beginning of my guitar studies, and I felt so complete when two years later I got to perform it myself, nowhere else then in Jerusalem.
The lamenting beginning of this piece brings a verse to my mind, from the book of Lamentations, "for these things I weep". על אלה אני בוכיה
When I studied it I developed an image that this piece moves from grieving, to dreaming, and ultimately to a sense of acceptance and integration opening up a new path.
