Battle Monsters is a fighting video game. Developed by Scarab and published by Acclaim in 1995. Battle Monsters was influenced by other fighting games that utilise the digitised characters, such as Mortal Kombat and Atari’s Pit Fighter. The game features twelve different characters, each having their own original story about the reason they are fighting in this tournament and ultimately challenging the Big Four.

NoirStation Rating: - 2 Out Of 5 - Playing without any nostalgia or other attachments, I think this is a very average title. But apparently it was good enough to receive a sequel on Playstation 1, titled - Killing Zone, which I have already covered on this channel. If I had to sum up my experience with this game, I'd say that Battle Monsters is one of those button mashing games in which you try to spam as many cheap moves as possible in order to trick the AI, otherwise it’s too powerful to even try to play the game normally.
