Coopersville and Marne Railway Santa Train 2024

Описание: The annual Coopersville and Marne Railway Santa Trains are a local favorite in West Michigan for those who enjoy a simple train ride along the former Grand Trunk between the railroads' namesake towns of Coopersville and Marne. The trains have changed a bit over the years, and this one was no exception with a couple of interesting additions.

The train is a whopping 8 cars long this year, which might not seem like much but for these guys is a long train. Besides the handicap car which has been popular, we find a flatcar and recently acquired coach in the mix. A former Western Maryland flat still in Chessie System paint is hauling a generator that is powering former Charlotte Southern heavyweight "Butternut Creek". The "Butternut Creek" was a recent acquisition along with two other cars from the now defunct Charlotte Southern Dinner Train. The car was in usable shape, however it did not have its own power source, thus the generator on a flatcar.

The rest of the train is looking rather dapper with somewhat fresh paint from a few years ago and the freshly painted former Santa Fe caboose bringing up the rear. Things are indeed looking up at the Coopersville and Marne!
