In Episode 16 of our Sri Lanka 2025 travel series, we begin the day in Kandy’s cool hill country, taking in panoramic city views and visiting the Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue before travelling onward to Pinnawala.

At the Pinnawala Elephant Sanctuary, we witness one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic wildlife experiences — rescued elephants gathering by the river, cooling off during bathing time, and enjoying moments of care and feeding.
