Описание: For a long time, anyone in Arizona who wanted legal help knew right where to go: a lawyer. Lawyers have special education and training. Over the years they have developed legal expertise to help consumers. But these days, there's a problem: more and more attorneys are focusing on corporate work. That means fewer attorneys are available for regular people and many of those regular people believe the cost of hiring someone for relatively simple legal needs is just too much.

So, how can that problem be fixed? The Arizona Supreme Court voted unanimously to introduce something new. It's called a Legal Paraprofessional, and "LP" for short. It's someone with legal training and experience, just not as much as a traditional lawyer. They can do some things a lawyer can do, but not everything. Think of it like a nurse practitioner: that's the professional you often see when you go to urgent care or to a routine office visit. For some things, it's quicker and cheaper. But if it's more complicated, you're referred to a doctor. The Legal Paraprofessional will work the same way. They'll be able to help with limited matters and refer you to a lawyer when your needs are more complex. They might work for a lawyer's office or they might be out on their own.

The result is better access to legal services for people in need. So remember: the Legal Paraprofessional will be someone with special training, who is licensed and regulated by the court to give legal advice in very specific areas, they won't replace lawyers (just as nurse practitioners didn't replace doctors), but they could meet greater access to justice for the people of Arizona.
