ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Lisa Williamson is a bestselling and award–winning British author who was born and grew up in Nottingham. She studied drama at Middlesex University and since graduating has worked as an actor on stage and TV. She started writing when temping in offices in between acting jobs, which eventually grew into a children's book. Her debut novel for young adults The Art of Being Normal was a Sunday Times bestseller and won the 2016 Waterstones Children's Book Prize for Older Fiction. Since then she has written a number of other novels and non–fiction books including All about Mia, Paper Avalanche, First Day of My Life and the Bigg School series. Williamson lives in London with her partner, step–kids and a blue whippet called Nelson.
