Ashinoko GT is characterized by fewer straight sections than Odawara Pikes Peak. There is a part of the course where the road surface is extremely slippery due to the volcanic ash from the crater of Mt. Fuji. No matter how many times the course is cleaned, the volcanic ash cannot be completely removed, and the accident rate is high in this section, making it a feared death zone in Ashinoko GT.
