In 1940 the Argentine composer and guitarist J.F. Gomez Crespo presented his Argentine Series composed of Preludio, Vidalita, Canción, Pampeana, Norteña and Estilo in the Competition of the National Commission for Culture, obtaining the first prize.
Andrés Segovia, who defined Gomez Crespo as "the finest sensitivity of the guitar in South America", asked him for the original of this suite, extracting Norteña which thus became part of his concert repertoire, making three recordings in Long Play.

Nel 1940 il compositore e chitarrista argentino J.F. Gomez Crespo presentò la sua Serie argentina composta da Preludio, Vidalita, Canción, Pampeana, Norteña ed Estilo al Concorso della Commissione Nazionale della Cultura, ottenendo il primo premio.
Andrés Segovia, che definì Gomez Crespo come "la più raffinata sensibilità della chitarra del Sud America", gli chiese l'originale di questa suite, estraendo Norteña che entrò così a far parte del suo repertorio concertistico, realizzando tre registrazioni in Long Play.
