Описание: I made this video to introduce my industrial organization students to vertical product differentiation, or in other words, when different products in the market differ by quality. The example is simple, with all consumers buying one good and with exogenous product qualities. Firms compete in price, given their levels of quality. I show how to calculate demand and choose the optimal price. There is some calculus in this video, but most of the work here will be accessible to someone who is not comfortable with that.
