Hundreds of Tucson residents took to the streets on Saturday, January 24, 2026, after video circulated showing federal immigration agents fatally shooting 37-year-old ICU nurse and legal observer Alex Pretti in Minneapolis earlier that day.
Pretti, a U.S. citizen and Veterans Affairs nurse, was killed during a federal immigration enforcement operation, sparking national outcry and protests in multiple cities.
In Tucson, several hundred protesters braved rain outside the federal building downtown, while a smaller group marched from midtown to the ICE offices near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
