The nightlife of the Tijuana is something to die for because at night Tijuana is a class apart from other Mexican cities. The unique bars and nightclubs are some of the favorite spots to spend a quality night time here. The nightlife of Tijuana can be compared with the big cities of the USA and other European cities. The city boasts an active nightlife with much more during night hours.

ZONA NORTE TIJUANA MEXICO "RED LIGHT DISTRICT" Most of the world's most dangerous cities are located in Latin America. The red light district in Tijuana is also known for street prostitution, particularly behind the main strip clubs on Calle Coahuila, in a large high-traffic alley named "Primer Callejón Coahuila". Illicit drug sales are also common to the red light district, which happens night and day in plain view because the local police tolerates it in the form of collecting their commission. The dealer's selling phrase is "¿Cuantos?" meaning "How much?" in Spanish. Heroin use and theft, not common elsewhere in Mexico, are rampant here. Due to its proximity to San Diego, California, it is frequented by US citizens, as well as locals. The district is also known as La Coahuila for the name of the primary avenue that runs through it.

Many foreigners travel to Tijuana to drink and dance, buy prescription drugs, purchase bootleg brand-name clothing, timepieces, and other personal accessories found globally, as well as manufactured and hand-crafted local curiosities. Locals and regular tourists avoid hassles by visiting the clubs at Plaza Fiesta or other areas of the Zona Río without the crowds, heavy marketing, and occasional tourist misbehavior or outright lawbreaking common on the Revolución strip. However, Avenida Revolución has been known for its proliferation of nightclub shows, primarily catering to casual tourists. While still an entertaining town with an enjoyable atmosphere, some locals and tourists feel it has lost an "anything goes" atmosphere, that was dangerous to locals, tourists, and the tourism industry.
