One of the most famous festivals in Japan, the 300 year old Owara Kaze no Bon(Harvest Wind Festival) is held annually on the first three days of September to ward off high winds (which ruin the rice ) and for a bountiful harvest. At night , stunning processions of dancers and the sounds of the kokyu and shamisen) Japanese stringed instruments )fill the narrow streets between the traditional wooden buildings.
