Описание: Announcing the recipient of the Charleston-Chichester Award for a Lifetime’s Excellence in Short Fiction. We are delighted to reveal that Edna O’Brien is this year’s recipient of the only award to recognise long-standing creativity and achievement in the short story genre. She has also won the American National Arts Gold Medal and the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award. Her current collection , The Love Object, brings together stories that have inspired generations. Edna O’Brien will read from one of her stories and be in conversation with Di Speirs, BBC Radio’s Editor of Books and member of the Advisory Panel for the Award.
