Thousands of farmers in India have taken to the streets to protest recently passed agriculture reforms.They have blocked highways and railway tracks, forcing authorities to cancel several train services on some routes. Crowds have gathered across Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The government said the bills will help farmers get better prices for their produce, as they will be able to sell directly to markets anywhere in the country at prices they choose. However, farmers fear the government will stop buying grain at guaranteed prices.
