1411 - 1108, 1101. Shunting the wagons into the up refuge so the locos can rescue 5116
5116 - RL303, 1104 had failed on Cowan Bank in the early hours of the morning. D116 light engine MZ1432 was dispatched from Sydney to assist. But the train failed again on Cowan Bank.
1411 - 1108, 1101 crossed over to the up platform at Cowan and shunted the wagons back into the up refuge. Cowan 1230-1247 14/1/26
I had to leave for work so didn’t witness the rest of the rescue mission.
1108, 1101 run light engine on the up to attached to 5116.
The combined 5 loco train didn’t make it to Cowan until about 1600 and eventually to Port
Botany many hours later.
1108 returned to the wagons of 1411. It didn’t get the road north until about 2330.
