Jennifer Bartlett created a ‘non-march’ for people with disabilities.

Bartlett, who has cerebral palsy, says she asked the Women’s March Alliance (WMA) to make their march more accessible for disabled people and include them as leaders on their board, but she says they didn’t address her concerns. WMA founder Katherine Siemionko filed a cease and desist order on Bartlett to stop critiquing her publicly.

'The Women’s March Alliance for 2 years didn’t want to highlight disability justice in the way that was effective, in my opinion. So I started this whole thing by myself.'

Bartlett partnered with activist group Rise and Resist to make the march happen.

'Disability for a lot of people is, is an identity. It is the same for a lot of people as being queer or a person of color. People don't understand that. They just don't get it. And the feminist movement has never gotten it, never. We don’t need to be ashamed of our bodies. We don’t want to be cured. It’s the environment that disables us, not our body.'
