The question is: Is the world on the brink of another major war? Relations between Iran and the US haven't always been tense; there was a time when the US was considered Iran's biggest supporter. But the story changed in the 1950s when Iran decided to take control of its oil resources, which threatened the interests of Western powers. In 1953, with the help of the US and Britain, Iran's elected government was overthrown, and Shah Reza Pahlavi was installed in power. This was the turning point that sowed the seeds of distrust towards the US in the minds of the Iranian people. The 1979 Islamic Revolution solidified this animosity when the Shah was overthrown, and religious leadership came to power, declaring the US its main enemy. Since then, the US embassy crisis, sanctions, economic pressure, and military threats have continued unabated. Time has passed, governments have changed, but the fire of animosity has never been extinguished. This old history is making the current situation even more volatile.
ईरान में बेचैनी है। अमेरिका पूरी तरह अलर्ट पर है। खाड़ी में वॉरशिप्स तैनात हैं। आसमान से फ्लाइट्स हटाई जा रही हैं। और जमीन पर युद्ध की आशंका गहराती जा रही है। सवाल यही है। क्या दुनिया एक और बडे युद्ध के करीब खडी है। ईरान और अमेरिका के रिश्ते हमेशा से तनावपूर्ण नहीं थे बल्कि एक दौर ऐसा भी था जब अमेरिका ईरान का सबसे बडा समर्थक माना जाता था लेकिन कहानी 1950 के दशक में बदली जब ईरान ने अपने तेल संसाधनों पर नियंत्रण का फैसला किया और पश्चिमी ताकतों के हितों को झटका लगा 1953 में अमेरिका और ब्रिटेन की मदद से ईरान की चुनी हुई सरकार को गिरा दिया गया और शाह रजा पहलवी को सत्ता में बैठाया गया यही वो मोड था जहां से ईरानी जनता के मन में अमेरिका के खिलाफ अविश्वास पैदा हुआ 1979 की इस्लामिक क्रांति ने इस दुश्मनी को स्थायी रूप दे दिया जब शाह को हटाकर धार्मिक नेतृत्व सत्ता में आया और अमेरिका को ईरान ने अपना मुख्य शत्रु घोषित कर दिया इसके बाद अमेरिकी दूतावास संकट प्रतिबंध आर्थिक दबाव और सैन्य धमकियां लगातार चलती रहीं समय बदला सरकारें बदलीं लेकिन दुश्मनी की आग कभी बुझी नहीं यही पुराना इतिहास आज के हालात को और ज्यादा विस्फोटक बना रहा है
