🔽 Qiongkushitai Day 6 - June 7th

Today we hiked from Akepa Shalisi (1,600 m) to Dry Creek Camp (2,820 m).

We woke up in the middle of a local Kyrgyz festival and were treated to incredible hospitality. While we were tempted to stay and celebrate, a rare window of good weather meant we had to push on. It turned into a beastly day with a 1300-meter climb in the scorching sun with fully loaded packs. No rest for the wicked!

In May 2025, Siyuan and I started a 30 day traverse of the Tianshan mountain range in far west China, a route seldom undertaken by even the local Chinese hikers.
