The NHS Health Check is a free overall health check that can be carried out at your local GP, and in some pharmacies. As Jo explains, Health Checks are carried out by a nurse in most cases and will include being asked questions about your lifestyle habits and family medical history as well as measuring height, weight, blood pressure and cholesterol. Receiving results during the check in the form of a risk score, a Health Check is a valuable way to identify early symptoms of what could become larger health problems, which helps you stay on top of your health.
