Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari has dissolved parliament and set a date for elections.
Anger over caretaker Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s handling of the COVID outbreak has added to what was already a political deadlock.
Oli lost a vote of confidence in parliament this month, and some accuse him of fuelling the COVID crisis - he has repeated claims that COVID is no worse than the flu .
