One day my employer teaches me to cook a homemade Chinese soups. And as we've on a cooking progress she's told me about how she's trained to cook as a child untik Growing up from her Momshouse. "when I pull all-nighters, or when she hears me cough, she would immediately make Chinese soups for me. It’s her way of expressing “I love you“."
Chinese soups, with thousands of years of history, are very important in Chinese cuisine. A meal isn’t complete without a good bowl of comforting soup. They’re more than a regular dish to fill your tummy or to enjoy.
According to Chinese medicine practices, many Chinese soups have health benefits such as improving immune system, skin conditions (beauty effects!!), appetite, or cure sickness.

It usually takes a long time to make a flavorful pot of soup. However, with that unique challengees on cooking a traditional wat we could enjoy. After 2-3 hours of cooking we can finally enjoy flavorful and healthy Chinese soups.
It’s one of the most common & simple homemade Cantonese soups. According to Chinese medicine practices, this Pork (Shank)Green Radish and Carrots Soup can clear away internal “heat”, improve digestive system, and “clear” throat & cough. It's really quite easy and good food especially in our pandemic time now !

Ingredients for Traditional Chinese food are Pork Ribs with Green Radish and Carrots Soup.
Carrots
Green radish
Pork shank
Ginger
Dried dates 蜜棗 – we bought ours at our local traditional Chinese medicine & herbs store. You may find these at local Asian markets too.
Almond
·Chestnut
Sea salt
Cold running tap water

Tips for Traditional cooker Pork Ribs With Green Radish Carrots Soup.
1. Clean the Pork Ribs (Shank)
We parboil the pork shank or any other bones and meat to clean and remove the excess fat whenever we make Chinese soups. For this recipe, we parboiled the pork shank for 3 minutes, then rinsed it in cold tap water.
2. Boil Soup
Due to traditional Chinese soups cook for 2-3 hours. Pork Ribs with Green Radish and Carrot SOUP

Pork Ribs (Shank)Green Radish Carrot Soup
Ingredients
2 (1 ½ lbs or 680g) large carrots , roughly chopped
1 ¾ pounds (800g) large green radish , roughly chopped
1 ½ pounds (680g) pork shank
4 quarts (4L) cold running tap water
1 thin slice ginger
3 dried dates (Chinese: 蜜棗)
1 small piece
Sea salt to taste
Instructions
Clean Pork Shank: Bring 2L of water to a boil. Then, boil the pork shank for 3 minutes to clean and remove the excess fat. Remove the pork shank and rinse it in cold tap water. We take this step whenever we make Chinese soups with pork shank or any other bones and meat.
Prepare Ingredients: Wash and boil the Chestnut for 2-3 then drain and remove skin easily. Wash the dried dates with cold running tap water. Prepare the rest of the ingredients as listed.
Traditional Cook Pork Shank Soup: Pour 3L of cold running tap water into the pot. Do not add any salt. Close the cooker’s lid on the pot cook at High heat for 30 minutes boilwater, and place all the ingredients inside exceptthechestnut. Boiling foran hour and then turn onto medium heat add the chestnut(roughly 20 – 25 minutes). Turn off the heat.
Seasoning: Carefully open the lid and heat up the pot to bring the soup back to a full boil. Let the soup boil for an extra 20 - 30 minutes (Instant Pot: use Saute function) to add body & thickness to the soup. Add sea salt to taste. (Make sure to add in the salt slowly and keep tasting. Do not over season.)

3-4 pcs red dates
2 tbsp of crack almond
