Описание: Emerging research shows that healthcare providers – from mental health professionals to nurses and doctors – are at a greater risk for stalking than the general public. Healthcare providers stalked by patients often face legal and ethical issues, forced to walk a tightrope between personal safety and clinical obligations where unhealthy pursuit behaviors are addressed as part of treatment plans. This roundtable discussion, led by the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC) as part of its Vital Signs project, features healthcare professionals (including stalking survivors) in dialogue about how stalking may impact healthcare providers in different types of settings, considering challenges and opportunities to better address this underrecognized problem. The session is intended for domestic violence and sexual assault advocates to better serve survivors who work in healthcare settings.
