Hive beach is situated in near the small #dorset town of Burton Bradstock and is part of the Jurrassic Heritage Coast. There is a large car park run by the national trust and at the time of writing the all-day charge is £9.
There is also a cafe and toilets on-site both opening around 10am.

It pays to get there early on busy days to bag a parking spot close to the water as possible. The beach can get very busy during peak season. The waters edge is around 200ft from the nearest parking and is across course sand.

The dive is shallow with 6-8m in most places. The entry into the water is relatively easy in calm conditions. The best entry point is to the right of the cafe where the cliffs start and are closest to the sea. Set a SW bearing and you will pick up the reef. You can follow this feature until it peters out and gives way to silty sand. We then turned E and followed the edge of the reef before turning 180 degrees and re-tracing out path before finally taking a N bearing back to the beach. The shallow depths give long bottom times. Its best to dive the site 2hrs before high tide and then up to 4hrs after.

There is plenty of life with small Bib, crabs, cuttlefish, wrasse, lobster and we even spotted a Sole (not a Place as I suggest in the clip).

A great dive site for newbies or if you fancy an easy dive....
