Super Metroid - Part 6: More Norfair + Crocomire

In this video, the items I get are even more Missile powerups, the Ice Beam, the Power Bomb, and the Grappling Beam.

Right now, the Ice Beam is the most useful beam in my arsenal, so far. It freezes just about every enemy in the game except for bosses. A second shot from this after this usually finishes the frozen foe off.

The Power Bomb is, of course, the more powerful version of Samus' regular Morph Ball Bomb. Set it up, and then use it like you would use any other bomb. It spawns a nice huge explosion that eliminates every enemy that touches it. It will also open any Yellow Door you come across.

The Grappling Beam lets Samus latch onto certain blocks to swing across long gaps.

Before I get the Power Bomb, however, I have to fight a miniboss, first: Crocomire. He's probably the most popular miniboss based on how he's killed.

You can't kill him on your own. You have to back him towards an acid pit. Just wait until his mouth opens, then shoot it. Just keep doing this until he falls into the acid pit.

The way Crocomire dies is gruesome. You will actually see his flesh burn right off his bones as he sinks into the acid. What's worse is that he's wailing over this to whole time, so he's in a lot of pain.

You travel back and forth in that same room, and then you're suddenly confronted by Crocomire again. This time he's nothing but a skeleton. He tries to fight you again, but fails.

So then, a bit later I get the Power Bomb, and then the Grappling Beam, then I travel through more of Norfair with these at my side. I also get Norfair's Map Data so I can check for places I haven't already been through before.

The last part of this video has me leave Norfair. I'll come back to it later, but right now, I'm taking advantage of that fact that I've gotten several more items from it that I can use elsewhere.
