Did you know there is research to suggest that there is a correlation/relationship between antisocial personality disorder and PTSD?


This association between antisocial traits and trauma occurs for many reasons and in many different situations. Now, this doesn't mean that if you have PTSD that you will develop antisocial personality disorder. What this does mean is that in some situations there are individuals who have either PTSD occurring first and then later develop maladaptive personality traits of antisocial personality. Or the antisocial individual places themself in a traumatic situation that leads to PTSD.


It's like the chicken and the egg -- what comes first?


In today's video, I will be discussing what research is saying about the correlation/relationships between PTSD and antisocial personality disorder.
