Описание: This animation shows a perspective view of windrows forming with the u-component of velocity superposed. The motion of the Lagrangian particles is initially strongly influenced by the surface currents that are induced by the formation of Langmuir cells beneath the ocean surface. Later in the simulations, especially for Case 1, surfing and scrubbing due to breaking waves play a prominent role in the lateral spread of windrows. Spilling breaking due to oblique-wave instabilities is conducive to Type-2 windrow formation (Dommermuth, 2020f). For Type-2 windrows, successive spilling breaking waves progress down the middle of the windrow band of the breaking wave that preceded them.
