Fixing Population: One Hand Orientation on Quest 3 (SteamVR – FULL FIX) and KAT C2 Treadmill

Описание: In this video I show you the exact fix that finally corrected my broken hand alignment in Population: One when playing on a Quest 3 through SteamVR / Steam Link / Prism / ALVR / Virtual Desktop.

My hands were upside-down, rotated 90°/180°, pointing backwards, palms facing the wrong direction — you name it. Nothing worked until I used the method in this video.

🔧 What I Did (Method #1 – FULL Manual Reset)

To fix it permanently, I performed a full SteamVR controller binding reset, forcing SteamVR to re-download the official binding published by BigBox VR.

Steps included:

Deleted ALL Population: One controller binding JSON files
(Steam\config\input\populationone_*.json and old Oculus Touch bindings)

Purged the SteamVR controller cache
by deleting steamvr.vrsettings

Restarted SteamVR

Launched Population: One, which triggered
SteamVR to re-download the official BigBox VR controller binding automatically

This restored the default hand skeleton, correct orientation, and fixed every rotation issue instantly. No more upside-down hands, no more reversed palms, and no more flipping the controllers physically.
