Colossal Olmec Head - Monument 1, located at Parque Museo La Venta - Villahermosa - August 2025

Описание: This Olmec cvilization flourished from roughly 1500 BCE to 400 BCE. it is a significant artifact from the ancient Olmec civilization of Mesoamerica. It is one of 4 colossal heads discovered at the La Venta archaeological site, and is notable for its size and well-preserved state. The head is carved from basalt, a volcanic rock. The materials are from the region of Los Tuxtlas, Veracruz which is over 200km from La Venta. The head stands at approximately 8 feet 1 inch (2.46 meters) tall and weighs 24 tons.
