Easy Lift Equipment’s Eagle-Grip 2L Series Attachments utilize a double automatic clamping mechanism designed for handling one or two drums at a time with a lift truck. The EG2L double clamping mechanism is designed for handling a wide range of steel, plastic and fiber drums in light duty applications of up to 1,000 lbs. on the single drum handling attachment and up to 1500 lbs. on the double drum handling attachment. The double clamping mechanism is ideal for working with open top drums as well as plastic or fiber drums over 600lbs.
All EG2L fork mounted models are knockdown units which bolt together but are shipped assembled and ready to use. EG2L fork mounted models provide easy installation for the operator within seconds either to or from a fork truck.
Seen here is our 2-F, two drum handling attachment.
EG2L Attachments are supplied with a Safety Chain, which should always be secured to the lift truck’s mast prior to handling drums. Failure to connect the safety chain can lead to property damage or serious personal injury.
The double clamping mechanism provides a higher degree of safety by gripping each drum in two places, dividing the weight exerted on the drum’s chime.
Our Eagle-Grip Attachments offer the operator flexibility when unloading drums from trailers or moving drums to their required destination.
All Eagle Grip Attachments are finished in a Safety Yellow Powder Coating for durability.
The Operator can easily place, release and stage the drums directly onto a skid, floor, or shelving. However, the attachment also offers the ability to place the drums directly into higher rack locations without the need for extra steps or manual labor.
The Eagle-Grip® 2L double articulating heads are user friendly in that they allow the EG2Ls to pick and place drums even when misaligned or slightly separated up to 9” apart.
The EG2L seen here is our -F, single Drum Handling Attachment, which only includes one carriage mount. A second carriage mount could be added down the road to configure this EG2L attachment to handle two drums at a time.
All EG2Ls are completely mechanical requiring no hydraulic or electrical connections to the lift truck.
The Quick-Claw option eliminates the need for a safety chain as well as prevents the operator from having to dismount and re-board the lift truck to connect and disconnect a safety chain during on-and-off usage. This is an ideal feature when attachment usage is intermittent over time.
The Spark Resistant Clamp Option, also known as SRC, includes an outer housing constructed of stainless steel along with stainless steel clamping jaws. The SRC Clamp functions the same as the standard powder coated clamp, but is better suited for working with flammable materials in potentially hazardous environments.
Heavy Rubber Belts, which rest against the lower side of the drum during transport, are included on all Eagle-Grip 2L Series Models. The belt reduces the possibility of cosmetic damage or denting to the drum or drums while handling.
When handling fiber drums, however, you should always ensure that the fiber drum guards of the EG2L have been secured in the forward position prior to proceeding. To do so, simply remove the two hair pins and push the two fiber drum guards of the EG2L Clamp into the forward position, locking them into place with the same hair pins. The fiber drum guards, when in the forward position, are designed to help prevent the lower clamping jaw from damaging the fiber portion of the drum and assist in ensuring that the clamp only activates on the metal chime of the drum, as seen here.
Optional Scale Systems are also available for our Eagle-Grip Attachments. Scales can be utilized for verifying weight and performing inventory.
EG2L models come standard with 33-inch long, light duty fork pockets designed to sit on the front of standard forks. Quick-Claw models, however, come standard with 49-inch long fork pockets, as seen here.
