This is the recording of the second seminar in our 2025 food sustainability series, held on Thursday, October 16th, 2025.
In this seminar, we explored the critical journey our food takes from production to plate, examining whether current practices are truly sustainable for our region and beyond.
We were delighted to welcome Chris Walsh and Helen Woodcock from Kindling Farm in Prescot (L35) as our keynote speakers. They shared their firsthand experience of sustainable farming practices and the realities of bringing locally-grown food to Liverpool's tables.
Alongside our keynote speakers, a panel of local food producers discussed:
The challenges and opportunities in local food production
Supply chain sustainability and food miles
The economic viability of farm-to-fork models
How consumers can support sustainable food journeys
The role of local farming in Liverpool's food culture
This seminar continues our exploration of whether Liverpool has a distinctive food culture and how we can build more sustainable food systems in our city.
