Dr. David was born, brought up, went to school and college in Tamil Nadu.
Dr. David went to Union Biblical Seminary in 1978 and completed his Bachelor of Divinity in 1981. He graduated from Trinity International University, Deerfield, Ill. (Illinois – United States of America) with Th.M. (Master of Theology) in OT studies in 1988. Thereafter, he earned his Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from SAIACS in 2005.
He joined SABC in 1982 and, continued thereon till retirement in 2010. Dr. David, now continues as a consultant in SABC. He has been involved in preaching, teaching and counselling in churches in India. He is also one of the contributors to the South Asia Bible commentary apart from articles and write ups to Christian magazines and works. He has also written notes for a few Old Testament books in the NIV Study Bible which is to be published soon.
