Pernell Whitaker was more subtle in his use of the pullback than the likes of Ali and Mayweather but he was no less effective.
Often using his jab as bait to tease his opponent into a counter, Whitaker would then use the pullback to counter his opponents counter.
Whitaker had complete mastery of distance, moving just enough to avoid the punch but still leave himself in position to counter. A master of the sweet science.
