My first track with so many layers of violin and upright bass combined !
It was a challenge to record it in stereo without phasing issue.
After many tests (A/B, X/Y), I've choosen the ORTF setup for stereo recording using the cheap but great Superlux S502:

The microphone is plugged directly into the UMC204HD interface with the great Midas preamp.

The basic strings were replaced by better ones from Pirastro

The upright is an entry level from GEWA which is enough for beginners like me !

Finally, the melody is played using an Harmochord, which is similar to a bandoneon common in tango songs.
