Steve Nash, one of the most influential point guards in the game of basketball, has recently hinted at a possible retirement from the NBA. Plagued by frequent injuries regarding the nerves in his back, Nash has found great difficulty in being able to make a comeback to help the Los Angeles Lakers become the team they desired to become when acquiring Nash from the Phoenix Suns.

Though he may have recently been noted as merely an injury-prone veteran, let us not forget the greatness of this man's career. Steve Nash has been one of the most terrific shooters to ever play the game, and his prolific passing abilities were considered unmatched within the league for many years. As one of the most unselfish, talented, and intelligent basketball minds to ever exist in the NBA, I wish to honor his legacy with this career mix of some of his greatest highlights.

In Phoenix, Nash ran the No 1. offense with Amar’e Stoudemire and Joe Johnson, and kept it at No. 1 when Johnson left for Atlanta and Stoudemire missed all but three games in 2005-06. Even when Shaquille O’Neal arrived and supposedly bogged down the Suns’ attack, they had the most efficient offense in the league.

The Suns played at a fast pace, but we’re not looking at points per game, here. We’re looking at points per possession. And not only did Nash run the No. 1 offense of the last 37 years, he’s run each of the top five offenses of the last 37 years.
