Описание: This video looks at how glacial ethanoic acid reacts with phosphorus pentachloride to form ethanoyl chloride. PCl5 is an excellent chlorinating agent, replacing the OH group in ethanoic acid with a chlorine atom. As the Cl is a "better leaving group" than OH, the acyl chloride is much more reactive. Concentrated ammonia is then added to the ethanoyl chloride to form the corresponding primary amide (ethanamide). This is a white solid. There are accompanying videos that look at the reactions of alcohols and carboxylic acids with phosphorus pentachloride and thionyl chloride (SOCl2).
