0:03 MAP15 (Boss): "Iconoclast" by Demonic Meatball
A pretty standard Icon of Sin. Actually kind of reminds me of my Icon of Sin map from Interception. Other than throwing a few waves of enemies at you first, the fight itself is pretty standard. This level sets itself apart by having a secret alternate ending, allowing you to really ignore the boss battle entirely. Icon of Sin haters will say it's a win. Not the worst end boss to a wad I've ever played, but finding the secret exit was definitely a more novel experience.

A spaceship floating among the stars. The doomcute interior is neat, but the highlight is definitely going out for a spacewalk. Unfortunately, the spacewalk sort of breaks down? once you enter the super duper secret exit and find the alternate credits end text. It's a little vague finding it, but it's a fun easter egg nonetheless.

The final, final map is actually a secret level. It's a big ol' slaughtermap, with tons of room to move around. Slaughter fans should have an easy time with this one. I died most on the yellow key fight, which was a pretty hectic experience exasperated by the odd blocking floors.
Yeah, this map has blocking floors which become an interesting mechanic in some areas, like right outside the blue key building for instance. While the floors force you to dodge projectiles with limited space to move here, they mostly just get in the way throughout the rest of the level. Not to mention they can be pretty hard to read at first.
The level itself is a standard three-key hub sort of deal. Collect all the keys, all hell breaks loose, and now you have to press all of the switches that opened up around a very large map. It can be a little grindy for sure, but it certainly lets the wad go out with a last hurrah for those looking for a challenge.

And so ends Attempt Cereson. It definitely had a bit more action than I expected from an anti-Plutonia community project. I feel like the main goal got lost in the sauce, and I just sort of forgot about the whole anti-Plutonia thing after the first few levels. Still, it was a fun experience, and Demonic Meatball and the rest of the team pulled through with some pretty great stuff. And on my end, it was refreshing to make a short little MAP01.
