My goal for this race was simple: finish the race and try for a Top 10. Proud to say we accomplished it! 🏁

This was my first IMCA Sport Mod main event feature race as a rookie driver at Kevin Harvick's Kern County Raceway Park / Bakersfield Speedway, and it was a huge learning experience from start to finish.

Earlier in the night I struggled trying to get the car dialed in. The setup just wasn’t quite where we needed it, and I could feel myself starting to get discouraged. Dirt track racing is a constant balance of car setup, driver feel, and adapting to track conditions, especially in a competitive class like IMCA Sport Mods.

Before the main event feature, we made a few key adjustments to the car — and it completely changed how it handled. Once the green flag dropped, the car felt so much easier to drive, and I finally started to understand what people mean when they say these cars feel like you’re wearing them instead of driving them.
For a rookie driver learning a brand new class, finishing the feature and coming home with a Top 10 finish felt like a huge step forward.

This vlog gives you a behind-the-scenes look at grassroots dirt track racing, including race day prep, the learning curve of driving an IMCA Sport Mod, and what it's like competing at one of California’s most well-known dirt tracks.
I’m excited to keep learning, improving, and chasing better finishes in this class every race.
