A major political crisis has erupted inside the Trinamool Congress (TMC) as a group of 19 Lok Sabha MPs have reportedly broken ranks with party chief Mamata Banerjee.

The rebel faction, led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, has submitted its support letter and the names of all MPs backing the group have now surfaced.

Among the prominent names are Shatrughan Sinha, Yusuf Pathan, Saugata Roy, Mala Roy, Sayoni Ghosh, Rachna Banerjee, Deepak Adhikari (Dev) and several other MPs.

The development is being seen as one of the biggest internal challenges faced by Mamata Banerjee and could have major implications for both national politics and the future of TMC in West Bengal.
