I’m FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson. Every day, we hear from consumers who’ve gotten calls from someone pretending to be the Federal Trade Commission. Unfortunately, many of them also report losing money to those imposters. You can help stop this scam. Here’s what I want you to know. No one from the FTC will ever tell you to move your money to protect it. We won’t threaten you or tell you to withdraw your money and give it to someone else. Only a scammer will do those things. So before you act, go to ftc.gov/imposters to learn more.
