Описание: Pakistan’s telecom sector is set for a major transformation as the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) introduces a new licensing framework for Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs).

Following the upcoming 5G spectrum auction, the new framework will allow smaller telecom companies to enter the market by leasing spectrum and infrastructure from existing mobile network operators. These MVNOs will be able to launch their own brands and services while partnering with one or more telecom operators.

Under the new rules: • MVNO licenses will be valid for 15 years. • The initial license fee has been set at US$140,000. • Operators must comply with cybersecurity and national security regulations. • Customer data protection and call record security will be mandatory. • Emergency service access and effective complaint management systems will be required. • Strict quality standards for 4G and 5G services have been introduced.

The new policy is expected to increase competition, improve service quality, and create more choices for telecom users across Pakistan.
