Vox AC15X Handwired demo

Описание: This amp is a new version of the classic Vox AC15 from the JMI era.

Vox have tried to recreate the build of the old ones with a turret board construction and the layout of the original chassis, a Celestion Alnico Blue speaker and the distinctive look of the originals. It does have a master volume and reverb unlike the originals but it's close enough.

I have never owned a JMI Vox so decided to buy one of these. Now, having watched some videos including a few by Psionic Audio, I was fairly confident it would be good but no way did I think it would be as good as it is.

Psionic Audio does complain about the EQ of the bass and treble not being like the original but frankly that doesn't matter to me as I have never owned an old one. All I can say is that this one sounds amazing. It has a great quality cab and an Alnico blue speaker with a very good master volume and a surprisingly good reverb make this a winner for me.

I did this demo with a Stratocaster and using the onboard reverb only. I actually was going to use the loop in the Two Notes Reload II with a Universal Audio Golden Reverberator but actually the reverb in the amp sounds very very good so used that.

I am very happy with this amp. It has a richness harmonically that makes every note sound so pleasing and I have found myself losing hours playing through this amp. So good!

So I have the amp going into the Reload II attenuator which allows me to open the master up to half and I try the normal and top boost channels at various settings. See what you think!
