Monsoon activity in Bihar is set to intensify once again. According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and strong winds are expected in several parts of the state over the next few days. Meanwhile, a gradual rise in maximum temperatures will be observed. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert.
According to the weather forecast, maximum temperatures in several areas of Bihar may see a gradual rise of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next 4-5 days. No significant change in temperature is expected thereafter. The maximum temperature in the state is projected to range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, no significant change is expected in minimum temperatures over the next five days; they are likely to hover around 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.

Light rain is expected at several locations in the districts of North-West Bihar—such as West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, and Saran—between July 9 and July 13. While some places may receive rain, the weather could remain dry in other areas. Rainfall is also likely at several locations in North-Central Bihar.


Weather activity is expected to be more intense in North-East Bihar. Conditions involving rain, strong winds, and lightning strikes may develop in Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Saharsa, Madhepura, and surrounding areas. Light rain is also predicted for parts of South-West and South-East Bihar.

Regarding July 10, the Meteorological Department has issued a special warning for the Madhubani and Supaul districts. Extremely heavy rainfall is predicted for both these districts. Additionally, thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km/h are expected in these areas. People have been advised to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions.


On July 10, strong winds and lightning strikes are also likely in several districts of North-West and South-East Bihar. Adverse weather conditions are expected in the districts of Araria, Darbhanga, Katihar, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Saharsa, Samastipur, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, and Vaishali. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is predicted for East Champaran and West Champaran.
